Governance & Accountability

How We are Governed

Accountable to our members, transparent to the public

AADANT is an incorporated, not for profit peak body governed by a Board. The Board sets our strategic direction and holds governance responsibility, while the Chief Executive Officer and staff deliver against it day to day. This structure keeps decision making close to the services we represent, the people setting our priorities understand the work on the ground.

We are accountable to our members, to the Government that funds us, our funding partners, and to the Territory Communities our sector supports.
Our constitution, strategic plan, annual reports and policies are all published below.

Our Board

AADANT is led by a Board that holds governance responsibility for the organisation and sets its strategic direction, working alongside the Executive Officer and staff who deliver against it. Board members bring experience from across the AOD sector and the broader NT community, ensuring decisions are grounded in the realities of frontline service delivery.

Human Rights

Human rights belong to every person and cannot be taken away, regardless of their circumstances. They are universal, interconnected and non-discriminatory, meaning no one right can be treated in isolation, and every person accessing or working within the AOD sector is entitled to be treated with dignity, fairness and respect.
  • Universal Belongs to every person
  • Inalienable Cannot be taken away
  • Interconnected Depends on every other right
  • Indivisible Cannot be treated in isolation
  • Non Discriminatory Applied without prejudice
AADANT proudly acknowledges the Larrakia people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our office stands and the waterways we view. We extend this acknowledgement to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
This activity is supported by funding from the Australian Government through the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
