Our history
In May 2013, AADANT became an independent organisation, transitioning out of its auspice arrangement with NTCOSS and establishing itself as the new peak body for the AOD sector in the Northern Territory. Initially governed by the board, AADANT appointed Michelle Kudell as Executive Officer in February 2014, with a clear mandate to grow the organisation and strengthen its reputation and relevance across the sector.
Today we continue to respond to the evolving needs of the NT AOD sector. Our work focuses on improvingtreatment and support for people who use alcohol and other drugs, while also providing leadership, advocacy and support to our key stakeholders, helping to build a stronger, more capable sector that can deliver better outcomes for our communities.
We are still an independent, membership-driven not-for-profit association. Our governance and direction come from our members and elected Board, and that accountability shapes everything from the programs we run to the way we advocate.
